Greetings,
I did not know that we should introduce ourselves. Thank you, Pam, for
mentioning this.
I just had a recent posting for a stamp art show at South Seattle
Community College in Washington, usa. I was introduced to stamp and
other mail art by some of the local practitioners in Seattle and
British Colombia recently. I had the good fortune to meet some well
known people in this genre. So, with their blessings and support, we
are mounting an exhibit next Spring.
My formal training is in BioMedical Illustration and Sculpture. I
worked in illustration, then financial services for some years. Now my
mainstay is photographic restoration and retouching, with attention to
preservation. Our studio also does graphic design related work. Part of
my time is spent in coordinating exhibits for the college.
I have produced 2 issues of art stamps, both related to local art or
recreational events, joined the International Union of Mail Artists,
gotten a mailing permit number and plan to do a couple of issues a
year. So few because my primary creative art is sculpture and I want to
build a larger body of works.
I anticipate retiring from the commercial scene and the college in a
few years to have more time for all of my artistic endeavors.
I enjoy hiking, indoor bicycling and weight training and healthy
eating.
